Celebrating Excellence at the 44th Agora Awards: “Luster” — February 11

On February 11, the prestigious Philippine Marketing Association 44th Agora Awards, themed “Luster,” gathered the country’s leading marketing professionals to honor excellence and impact in the industry.

Widely regarded as the highest recognition for marketing achievement in the Philippines, the Agora Awards celebrate individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and contribution to nation-building through marketing.

This year, Mary Ann Cortez served as Category Head for the Small Enterprise Division, playing a vital role in the rigorous evaluation and defense of nominees before a distinguished panel of judges that included respected industry leaders such as Donald Lim, Rossana Llenado, and Jos Ortega.

She warmly congratulated Kim Lato, founder of Kimstore, for winning the Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship (Small Scale Category).

“It is always a humbling experience to defend the nominees and stand before some of the most respected names in the industry,” Cortez shared. “Seeing passionate entrepreneurs like Kim Lato recognized for their perseverance and innovation is deeply inspiring.”

This marks her third time supporting the Agora Awards, reflecting her sustained commitment to uplifting Filipino marketers and entrepreneurs.

PMA 2026 Induction: A Bold Vision for the Future — February 12

The following day, on February 12, the Philippine Marketing Association formally inducted its 2026 Board of Directors, ushering in a new chapter under its 72nd President, Michelle de Ocampo-Ballesteros.

During the induction ceremony, PMA unveiled its bold and future-driven 2026 agenda anchored on the theme:

OneNess: Innovation. Transformation. Inspiration — Doing Good Beyond Business.”

Under this theme, PMA is repositioning marketing as a strategic force that goes beyond commercial success—one that actively contributes to long-term societal impact, shared prosperity, and national progress.

Mary Ann Cortez was formally inducted as Board Director for Research for 2026. In this role, she will help advance research-driven thought leadership, promote data-informed marketing strategy, and strengthen collaboration across the marketing community.
